How to combine PDF files into one
Quick answer
Add your PDFs to a merge tool, put them in the order you want, and download one combined file. With FilePDQ the files are joined on your own device, so nothing is uploaded.
Merge PDFsFree, no sign-up, and your files never leave your device.
Open the toolStep by step
- Open Merge PDFs and add the files, either by choosing them or dropping them on the box.
- Use the up and down arrows to put the files in the order they should appear.
- Select Merge PDFs, then Download. The new PDF has every page from every file, in that order.
Tips
- Name your files 01, 02, 03 before adding them and they will usually arrive in the right order already.
- Only need some pages from a file? Use Extract pages on it first, then merge the result.
- Bookmarks and form fields from the originals are not carried over. Add bookmarks again afterwards with Manage bookmarks.
If something goes wrong
One of my files is refused as password-protected.
Open it in the app that made it, remove the password (often under File, then Properties or Security), save, and add it again.
Pages come out sideways.
Merge keeps each page exactly as it was. Run Rotate PDF on the combined file and turn just the pages that need it.
