Questions about GLB to USDZ

Is GLB to USDZ free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how often.

Are my files uploaded?

No. It runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent to us or anyone else. Privacy notice

Which files can I use?

GLB, and other 3D models in, USDZ out. Up to 60 MB per file, 50 files at a time, 50 megapixels.

Step by step, and if something goes wrong

Steps

  1. Add one or more GLB files (other 3D formats work too).
  2. Choose the orientation and size options if you need them.
  3. Select Convert to USDZ, then download each file or all of them as a ZIP.

If something goes wrong

  • Apple’s AR Quick Look opens USDZ files straight from Safari, Messages and Mail.
  • STL and PLY files from CAD and 3D printing usually have Z pointing up. Choose Stand upright when converting them to GLB or USDZ.
  • STL files have no units. For AR, choose Millimetres to metres if the model was made for 3D printing, or it will appear 1,000 times too big.
  • STL, OBJ and PLY keep the shape only. GLB and USDZ also keep colours and textures.
  • STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB and FBX files are opened on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • GLB files must be self-contained. Files that use Draco or meshopt compression aren’t supported yet.
  • FBX textures stored as separate files aren’t included; the shapes still convert.
